‘The Mandalorian’ Season 2 trailer is finally here!
Well finally its here. After just six months of the very first season, The hugely popular ‘The Mandalorian’ is getting its second season next month. The trailer has already give us an exciting insight into what we could be expecting coming this October.
Already at the beginning it starts with a dramatic and intense opening setting the scene perfectly for what is about to come and shows how fast paced the action could be. At the beginning it also gives us an insight into what locations we could be expecting including a bustling trading centre which does seem to resemble a less developed Coruscant. However, what’s interesting is that most of the new scenery we saw is mostly in space itself so hopefully during the next season we can see more dramatic ship battles and pursuits. As well as the new stuff, it looks like we’ve heading back to where we started on the first season which was the Tatooine desert looking planet.
Regarding the storyline, everything looks similar to last season as the main focus still appears to be around Baby Yoda. This time though instead of the main job being to protect the child, the Mandalorian now has to return him to his own kind. Now this is where it really gets exciting. For the first time in the Mandalorian franchise, they are now bringing in the Jedi for the first time. We even get a tiny glimpse of a supposed Jedi at the beginning for a small amount of time. Of course as well as some new characters it seems that the old gang is returning as well including Carl Weathers as Greef Karga and Gina Carano as Cara Dune. Rumours have it that Timothy Olyphant may be joining the cast and making an appearance as the original character and fellow bounty hunter Boba Fett but who knows.
Now onto the next thing. Our Mandalorian is still fighting off against Moff Gideon’s stormtroopers which still has the same intense level of combat you would expect from last season. The unique and creative combat style of the Mandalorian is heavily featured in the trailer giving us just a glimpse of what we could be expecting. But the action is just boots on the ground this time as we see stormtroopers on speeders in pursuit of the Mandalorian. Additionally, at the near end of the trailer we see Mando at what appears to be an illegal fight club but turns out to be anything but innocent.
All in all, what I love mostly about this series is that its forever expanding on the Star Wars universe we have all grown up with over years and still continues to bring surprises. None of you have to worry as well if the show will turn out to ruin the franchise has the show is in very capable hands with John Favreau, who previously directed The Lion King 2019, as the showrunner and also Carl Weathers is said to direct an episode as well as Favreau himself. The Mandalorian is set to release exclusively on Disney Plus from October 30.
