Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Film of the Year?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is probably one of the most hyped-up movies of the year concluding the Skywalker Saga as we know it once and for all. However, will this Decembers release live up to its expectations it has been hyped up for. But most importantly, will it give us the same experience and feel as watching the classic movies by George Lucas as it does with this one?
The famous Skywalker Saga finally concludes as Ray, Finn, Poe and the resistance force faces the First Order one last time. With the teachings of Luke Skywalker behind them, the final battle is finally taking place. It has said to be a contender for film of the year and you can most certainly see how much effort has gone into it on-screen and off-screen. Also, you can definitely tell that LucasFilm has thought about the fans during the production of The Rise of Skywalker as it was reported that the director J.J Abrams along with a few other producers and writers had a long meeting with him before they even started to think about writing the script for The Rise of Skywalker. They thought his advice and his “benefits of his thoughts” would help them recreate the original feel that George Lucas gave the Star Wars franchise over 40 years ago. For fans, this is hopefully going to give them hope for what is to come in the final showdown this December after the previous episode, The Last Jedi, divided the fan base.
Moreover, people must be liking what they are seeing so far as the prediction for the box office is expected to break $175-$200 million on opening weekend. However, what might be surprising to some is that this total amount is just less than The Last Jedi made on its box office which was about $220 million whereas The Force Awakens made an outstanding $245 million on its release. The Rise of Skywalker’s overall box office total is going to break the box office records either way for the Star Wars franchise as it ranks third amongst the movie films just under The Last Jedi and The Force Awakens totalling a staggering $620 million together.
