A new upcoming horror movie has recently released its official trailer for the first time and to say the least, it looks interesting in the sense that it is completely original which gives it that much more exciting. The movie in question is called ‘Countdown’ and has said to be released 25th October just in time for a perfect Halloween treat.

What is really exciting about this movie, or any film familiar for that matter, is that it is completely original which for me gives it more exciting as the story to me is totally brand new. Along with that, with the current era, we are in with more modernised entertainment it is nice to see that ‘Countdown’ is also following this trend and the overall theme of the movie seems to be about the modern technology we are used to today which is great as we will be able to understand the plot more. Throughout the official trailer, they are already scenes of jumpscares which already give you the adrenaline feeling any classic horror movie does. Something else that I picked up on was that they were shuttle hints of comedy in there which is a relief to see in a horror movie as it moves away from the terror for a few moments. Overall, the first trailer released has delivered an outstanding first impression on me and has definitely encouraged me to want to see the full release on October 25th and would recommend it so far to any horror movie lover.

As mentioned before, this movie is something to be really excited about as it’s not another typical Hollywood blockbuster which usually has the same plot ideas and theme all the way through. Because of this, it is a relief to see that another original story is coming out in cinemas where we can truly expect the unexpected this time. Even though the new horror film has been modernised it still seems to hold that feeling and expectation that any classic horror film should and ‘Countdown’ is no different. This means that the story focuses on one main idea throughout but shows different perspectives from various characters who then have to help and stop whatever is causing this chaos. As well as this, the movies main plot point also ties in on the modern-day culture on the lives of teenagers. In my opinion, I also believe that it partly is trying to convey a message to us explaining how much the modern-day society relies too much on technology doing the work for us and how it can affect us as a person as we can become so attached to them which is a positive in the film as it may make us think about it.

However, with this being a completely original take on a film it could spark questions about how good is it actually going to be when fully released? The main concern with these types of movies is that they may appear good but end up becoming a huge let down when in cinemas which I hope isnt the case here. For some people, the storyline may seem too far fetched if you possibly don’t understand some references or what the movie is trying to explain throughout. This could also end up being a difficulty for anyone who may not be apart of the target audience of the film as they may not understand some significant plot points throughout.
