The last Harry Potter movie we saw on the big screen last aired in 2011, almost 10 years ago, and since then the wizarding world we all know and love has grown to a worldwide phenomenon with 8 major motion pictures, 7 books and now with 2 spin-off films from the ‘Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them’ timeline. However, since the release of the broadway play ‘Cursed Child’ they have now been speculations that it could be adapted into a movie itself. Along with hints from JK Rowling herself.

The Harry Potter series is still loved and kept alive to this very day considering its age and now with the new broadway play of the 9th story in the Harry Potter series ‘The Cursed Child’ the fanbase has never been so alive. But it doesn’t stop here…so it appears. Could a movie adaptation of the play finally be on the way? Or something completely different?

After 6 months of inactivity on Twitter, JK Rowling has returned and spoken out with a rather cryptic message which is making thousands of Potterheads around the world excited but also confused about what the message means. It features a remastered modern look on the infamous dark mark (see above) with the caption “Sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places #HarryPotter #CursedChild”. Some fans have rumoured that it could possibly mean that ‘The Cursed Child’ could finally be made into a major motion picture

. Unfortunately for many of us, this was soon covered up by a tweet from the official Pottermore account which states “There is something exciting coming later on from @CursedChildNYC , but it’s not a movie…”. Fans were left heartbroken from the fact that it may never become a movie but like always we should never give up hope. As it is realistic that it could be done but the actors have a bit more growing up first before they are the right age to be brought back into their roles as some of the original cast have said that they would be more than happy to return to their roles in the Harry Potter franchise at some point.

More rumours have speculated the 9th movie as posters featuring Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter in ‘The Cursed Child’ have been going around as if it was going to be a movie but most likely is that they are fan-made. They have said that the movie is going to be released on November 15, 2020, but this is just probably fan-made to create excitement and rumours. Even though I think we would all love for this to happen.

What JK Rowling’s tweet was really on about was to do with a ‘Cursed Child’ campaign which was taking place in New York as a special thank you to the success of the Broadway play. ‘The Cursed Child’ also receives a brand new look as well during this time.
